Sherry McDonald



Sherry began her insurance career while attending WSU in 1974 and continued to work in the insurance industry in Germany and when she returned to the states working in her father’s captive agency until 1997. She became licensed in March 1991. After pursuing her career with other captive agencies, she joined Guild and Landis in November of 2005 working at their Shade Agency location. Currently you will see Sherry involved in the Down Town Fairborn Business Association, Member and Ambassador for the Fairborn Chamber and the Fairborn Heritage Days.

 


Charlotte Petty

Upon graduation from Fairborn High School, Charlotte worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. As a secretary in the civil service sector, she was involved in the acquisition and development of the C-5A cargo transport. After the birth of her first son, she took time off to concentrate on being a wife and mother. In 1978, she began working in the Shade Agency as a Customer Service Representative in a part time capacity. She continued at the agency in a full time capacity up to the acquisition of the agency by Guild & Landis. She successfully obtained her property and casualty license in 2001 and will be celebrating her 30th anniversary with the Shade Agency in October of 2008. She is a member of the Fairborn Chamber of Commerce and The Downtown Fairborn Business Association, and is a worker bee for John and Sherry during the “We Love Main Street” cleanup days.
 


 

Dottie Redd

Dottie Redd is a Commercial Customer Service Representative. She has seen two "tours" of duty with Guild & Landis Insurance. From 1975 to 1981 she was employed as a personal lines Customer Service Representative. Her personal lines experience includes employment at Swartzel Insurance and Neff insurance in the Dayton area. She has attended Prisms for Customer Service Representatives and other insurance related training programs. Dottie is a graduate of Arcanum HighSchool in Arcanum, Ohio. Dottie splits her work week between Shade Agency and Guild & Landis providing Customer Service to agency clients.

 

John Turney


John Turney has spent over 40 years as an insurance professional handling all lines of insurance. The first 22 years was spent with insurance companies in various capacities, he then joined the independent agency system in 1994. The Shade Agency purchase in 2000 included both production of new business, and acquisition and management of future agency purchases. He has had several articles published in the Rough Notes Magazine; as well as spearheading the Satellite Insurance Agency Alliance in Ohio. His career has included the development of the Public Entities Pool of Ohio, which is an alternative insurance mechanism designed for governmental bodies. He gives back to the industry by teaching Property and Casualty license classes to candidates who wish to pursue a career in insurance. Included In his continuing civic involvement is vice president of the Fairborn Heritage Days Committee, vice president of the Downtown Fairborn Business Owners Association, Board member of both the Fairborn Chamber of Commerce and Greene County Vocational School.
